SURABAYA (GO) – Tiga seksi terakhir dari Ruas Jalan Tol Surabaya-Mojokerto hari ini, Rabu (19/12) telah rampung dan diresmikan langsung oleh Presiden Republik Indonesia Joko Widodo.
Ketiga seksi yang diresmikan Presiden meliputi Seksi IB Sepanjang-Western Ring Road (4,3 Km), Seksi II Western Ring Road-Driyorejo (5,1 Km), dan Seksi III Driyorejo-Krian (6,1 Km).
“Jika stok infrastruktur kita masih rendah dan stok infrastruktur negara lain lebih tinggi, artinya kita akan kalah bersaing dan mengakibatkan produk-produk kita lebih mahal. Inilah mengapa infrstruktur sangat penting untuk menjawab ketimpangan ekonomi daerah yang terjadi karena tidak adanya pemerataan pembangunan akibat tidak adanya konektivitas,” tegas Jokowi.
Peresmian ketiga seksi ini menyusul dua seksi Jalan Tol Surabaya-Mojokerto yang telah dioperasikan terlebih dahulu, yaitu Seksi IA sepanjang 2,3 Km (Waru-Sepanjang, diresmikan September 2011), serta Seksi IV sepanjang 18,47 Km (Krian-Mojokerto, diresmikan Maret 2016).
Dengan diresmikannya pengoperasian ketiga seksi tersebut, maka Jalan Tol Surabaya-Mojokerto dengan total sepanjang 36,27 Km telah beroperasi sepenuhnya.
Jalan tol yang membentang dari Kota Surabaya hingga Kota Mojokerto ini dikelola oleh PT Jasamarga Surabaya Mojokerto (PT JSM) yang merupakan anak usaha PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk.
